ABOUT

Debra Shea is a Sr. Product Designer and Human-Centered Designer with 7+ years of experience helping businesses create outstanding products & services. My goal is to design smart and elegant solutions that meet your business goals, with clear data to help you gain insights on your customers’ thoughts and behaviors towards your brand and digital product.

I am a lifelong learner and a Jane-of-all-trades that has spent a lifetime collecting deep knowledge and skills on any subject I’m deeply curious about at the time. Over decades of curious deep diving, I have become proficient in and gained deep understanding of many subjects and languages. My 3 biggest lasting passions are Design / Art, Psychology, and Language / Writing. What I love most about being a UX Designer is that it challenges me to solve complex problems with many moving parts. It’s an amazing feeling to solve problems that are believed to be near impossible to solve, because it challenges all parts of my brain to work together to find a creative solution.

My approach with Design as with most things is to ask questions, identify and clarify the problem / objectives, identify any unknowns and aptly research and fill knowledge gaps, use my creativity to solve problems, collect and identity data to verify / test whether my intent or assumptions lead to the expected results, and iterate as necessary.

I’m so lucky to have found a profession that is perfect for me in marrying all my talents, passions, and interests where I can continue to grow in and master. Thanks for taking the time to read my little blurb.

Most recently spearheaded the UX of Mortal Kombat Mobile at WBGames.

Send me an email to get in touch.

Debra IRL (in real life)

I love people and enjoy the excitement of working with different talents to achieve common goals. I believe that being the best Designer I could be includes investing and continuously growing both my technical and soft skills. Although I am always excited to learn about new design trends, skills, and industry-wide challenges, I believe spending time in my personal life continuously grow my emotional intelligence, leadership skills, communication / interpersonal skills, and critical thinking is what really sets me apart.

My hobbies include reading, going on little adventures, playing puzzles / games, and all things interior design (I collect furniture and love designing and redesigning a vibe for each space). More on the adventure part: one of my favorite career perks is having the opportunity to relocate or travel to new cities and experience life either as a local or tourist. I also have a bunny named Clover Hopperfield, who’s quite an escape artist and loves to run 🐰 ☘️

I’m always down for coffee, milk tea, or lunch. Cute animals & silly memes also welcome. :-)

Good Design is for all industries.

I enjoy the challenge of solving new complex problems, and bringing better design choices into all industries including:

  • mobile apps and games

  • biotech / govtech

  • enterprise software

  • POS (point-of-sale) systems

  • e-commerce websites

  • Regardless of the industry, my philosophy is simple:
The best strategy is making a product so good that it sells itself.
